Today's topic is about the new state testing. aka. SBAC. Here's what I think about it: it should NOT exist! Reason one is it's much harder than what it used to be, which I personally liked just fine. The paper version was way better, because it was easier, I mean come on, who doesn't want an easy test? Plus, with paper, a scanner corrects the tests; while with the new computer version test a person has to correct it. (At least that's what I heard.) I also heard that the reason for changing how the testing is done is that the people, "in charge," or whatever, want to prepare us for the future. It helps us prepare for the future because it makes us write long responses to a question instead of multiple choice; which is what we would have to do if we were to apply for a job. I can see how the SBAC is a good thing of course, but since I'm a lazy teenager, I like easy things and shortcuts.
